I’m not entirely convinced that psychology is the obvious place for posts about SI and suicide. Of course there are some posts on psychology about suicidal feelings, but those posts are usually contextualised by issues relevant to the concerns of the psychology board. But I’m also not sure that a new board for suicidal posts is the answer. I imagine that a board especially for suicidal posts would become unmanageable. I doubt people would read there unless they were feeling suicidal or prone to self injury, and I imagine that it’s difficult for a group of suicidal people to help each other. But what do I know?
Social is apparently for ‘general support’ and I don’t see why people shouldn’t discuss suicidal feelings there, especially if they’re looking for general support rather than psychology-related support. I know it can be hard to ignore those posts, but I think people who don’t want to read them do have the choice of not clicking on the links.
Maybe a better idea would be to have a happy fluffy board where only fun stuff is allowed. I think someone suggested that before…
