Some email programs have the possibility of sending out 'blind cc's. In other words there is the normal option of cc-ing *and* the option of bcc-ing. A bcc will not show the addressee on the cc line.
Unless this site and the edu site were on a 'from' part of the email, it shouldn't have come through here. But it would have gone to those emails at the same time it came to you.
Does this make sense?
