> SELECTIVE EDITING There BOB You can twist the truth into anything with selective pruning! I intentionally pasted the whole definition because I didn't want to appear to be doing that! I repost the entire definition._________________________________________________

> Having or being a taste that is sharp, acrid, and unpleasant.
> Causing a sharply unpleasant, painful, or stinging sensation; harsh: enveloped in bitter cold; a bitter wind.
> Difficult or distasteful to accept, admit, or bear: the bitter truth; bitter sorrow.
> Proceeding from or exhibiting strong animosity: a bitter struggle; bitter foes.
> Resulting from or expressive of severe grief, anguish, or disappointment: cried bitter tears.
> Marked by resentment or cynicism: “He was already a bitter elderly man with a gray face” (John Dos Passos).

> Bob I pasted the whole definition.Thought you could see that alternate definitions apply. However since you didn't I will spell it out for you :) I don't think proceeding from strong animosity is anything to be ashamed of if you're writing a poem about the innocent being burned at the stake and liars prospering. I think it would be a put down to say someone didn't resent something like that. I think the poem was expressive of or resulting from severe grief, anguish or disappointment. It was about injustice and innocents suffering unheard, etc. I don't think it's a put down to think the author resents that. I would be put down if someone said I didn't resent that! I'd be put down if someone posted you seem very sweet after I'd posted something like that. But that's where I'm different from zenhussy I guess.
> I hope your please be civil makes her feel better. I'm sure she's a sweet person and I apologize for calling her bitter in reference to the poem she posted.
