It is not unusual for people to have sedation as a side effect with Luvox. I don't know how long it lasts or if it lessens in magnitude over time. I mentioned Luvox because it exerts the opposite effects on sigma receptors compared to Zoloft. Luvox is a potent sigma-1 agonist. Zoloft is an antagonist. This is why Zoloft produces akathisia while Luvox actually treats it. Luvox is also being used to treat psychosis. I'm just wondering if sigma receptors are somehow involved in your condition. It's a long-shot, I guess.
Some studies indicate that Luvox is better for treating psychotic depression than are the other SSRIs. You might want to research the degree to which Luvox produces sedation and how long it lasts.
