An addiction p-doc I know believes buprenorphine is turning out to be like methadone - almost impossible to get off of. He is a licensed prescriber and does not believe in maintenance therapy for opiod addicts. That said, I think you should not use this addictive drug without the supervision of an experienced prescriber.
