In reply to Savella 50 mg 2x better for anxiety suffers?, posted by bearfan on November 12, 2009, at 18:22:50
I think dosing guidelines for all meds...savella included...are too aggressive and "one size fits all" is not appropriate. If an herb or med is affecting us too strongly it can be managed by lowering the dose and waiting. With savella you can do that by cutting pills, or if capsules making your own custom sizes.
I saw reviews from some of the people who were in the clinical trials. The general agreement was that the early weeks and even a couple months were challenging, but that the wait was worth it because the longterm benefits were really very good.
You could try going to a higher dose and see what happens. If it backfires, then go to a lower dose.
For me, by best results were at 6mg three times a day.
> I was never able to tolerate Savella for more than 2 weeks at 25mg 2x a day, due to uneasiness feeling at work and eventually inability to concentrate due to that. Does it get better eventually? I noticed occasionally I felt really well/confident in public places which was nice when it was working.
