If you've been on any of these meds longer than 8 weeks, and they are not doing you considerable good, those particular meds need to be weaned off and replaced with other new ones. Don't stay stuck. The number of meds we take has nothing to do with how well they work. The right ones work. As an objective example, in the large STAR*D study, more than 80% of patients reached total remission. The most meds at any given time was 2, with 3 in rare instances. It is just a matter of dumping the ones that aren't doing what you want, and trying others, especially others from different categories.

Bottom line is, don't stay stuck. Make moves. Keep trying things. Keep the ones that show promise. Dump the others. Don't stay stuck.

Even when you feel like crap, and it doesn't feel good to go out and socialize, work, walk a mall, go to church, whatever, do it. Do it. And keep doing it. Whether it feels right or not doesn't mean anything. To not do it allows the walls to grow around you even higher than they are. They will automatically shrink in size with some effort. Then when you find the right meds, they disappear completely.

But none of the above will happen without forward movement. Fighting illness requires some effort and persistence, above and beyond the pills. One foot in front of the other, no matter what.

> So i take a lot of meds now and i'm just thinking that a lot of it is just sucking the life out of me and the will to be a 'player' in life. I mean if you feel off, that automatically stops the desire to go out and be a social human being since every social transaction requires a performance of some kind. I don't look right and i'm conscious of it too and just spend my days shut indoors. I've tried making efforts to see people but it's been so long and they all felt strained and wrong. I don't know, i guess when you have your health, everything just happens automatically, friends, work, everything really. I really took that for granted when i was well.
