So far, my experiences with benzos has been alprazolam, lorazepam, and clonazepam. Neither Xanax nor Ativan caused depression, but Klonopin cause me to be extremely depressed. Ativan works as slowly as Klonopin, but isn't as strong (IMO). It also doesn't last as long, which may be part of why it doesn't cause depression. I theorize that is why Klonopin made me depressed. It's so long acting that it accumulates. That's my theory at least.
