I find that Nardil is actually 'delayed' when taken on an empty stomache.
For me its one of those meds which gives both short term benifits (ie, I feel an effect shortly after ingestion - like a benzo - maybe due to its GABA effects (?)) as well as the standard AD 'build-up' effect.
If I take it with/after food I feel its effects within an hour. But if I take it on an empty stomache, I tend not to feel much effect until I've eaten something, sometimes several hours later. I have NO idea why this is.
I know that with Moclobamide (Manerix etc) you need to take with food (again dont know why). With Marplan I felt it 'doing its thing' within the hour, whether I had eaten or not. Dispite both being MAOIs 'and' Hydrazine derivatives, I'm not so sure that Nardil and Marplan are really so similar.
Regards.
