Normally, on Bp II, you need, a mood-stabilizer, anti-dep. and one of two, ... anti-anxiety, sleep-aid. If this comgo. does not offer any 'relief,' then most of pdocs. add anti-psycho. med., such as Zyprexa, Risperdal, Seroquel and few more newer A.P.s.The main problem with my BPII is atypical depression--low energy, anhedonia, etc. My pdoc, who is one of the best ones in the nation (has a national radio program even), used that many stimulants because he was trying to get me out of my usual depressive state. It worked for a bit before it became too much and I dropped both Strattera and Adderall.

However, in my opinion, those three stimulants and even one of SSRIs, Zoloft shouldn't be in your system in the first place. Because, those meds. have a tendency to get you into 'hypomanic.'

I am RARELY hypomanic...he told me that he wanted me in a steady hypomanic state.>> Because, your Bp II seems NOT a serious form, however your tolerance on meds. have a lot of problem.
What do you mean "not serious"? I have lost 3 jobs, almost lost my family a number of times, can't function. No med combo works for more than three months, and that has happened only 3 times in the past 5 years. It is destroying my life.
>>WB is a good A.D., however it does not help the depressive side of Bp as you expected. Rather, this med. is good for 'concentration' problem brought on by the depressive side of Bp.
All I know is that it was predictable that my depression would lift 2 hours after taking it when I was on the 300mg dosage. I heard it works on the dopaminergic pathways, which is obviously where my problem lies.
> Lastly, if you never been on Zyprexa, try to talk to your pdoc. at your next appt., because a majority of Bp II has a good success/relief after taking the Zyprexa. Also, Lithium and Zyprexa combo. is one of the 'best' meds. for Bp II.
> H.G.I did try Zyprexa before, and it seemed to help. However, Lithium did not. My cognitive functioning was too impaired by lithium to keep it. I may ask the pdoc to replace Risperdal with Zyprexa.
Thanks for your thoughts. I just want to get out of this pit!
