Sorry!! Im in a hurry now- i am soon going into medical school which makes me very busy!!!! Lots of study!

Thanks. I believe derealization/depersonaliztion represent problems with the anterior cingulate gyrus....I believe the concentrations of transmitters is WAY out of wack in those areas. Brain Imaging has shown that that area of the brain, is where we feel the 'I' in ourselves- our identity. It is the point of reference from which WE experience things...for example when we say "MY head is sore" or I"M feeling tired"...it is that 'I' im talking about.

Depersonalization/derealization also correlate strongly with phobic anxiety....hence I believe their is GABA problems which can be alleviated with benzos (ie Xanax)

I have more to say, but yes, i have to go again!!!
