It's too much of an individual thing to generalize. But (just to contradict my previous statement) I'd predict that an experienced, older pdoc would be more likely to prescribe benzos because (a) they've seen how effective these meds can be; and (b) they're less likely than newer doctors to be brainwashed by pharm. co. reps. etc.
This has been my experience, but the sample size is too small to make a sweeping statement. Really, you just have to try different pdocs and choose the most sensible.
