Ultram withdrawal

Posted by Ame Sans Vie on October 13, 2003, at 13:25:09

Haven't posted in a few days as I haven't been feeling quite right lately. Well, the truth is I feel downright rotten -- I'm about to replace my Ultram with methadone, but I'm trying to wean off the Ultram first. No withdrawal of the opioid type as might be expected... it feels exactly like Paxil withdrawal. Brain zaps, clumsiness, numbness, foggy head and all. Ugh. Opioid withdrawal I can handle, easily. This I can't. I'm trying cutting back 25mg/day -- from 400mg to 375mg daily. Even that seemingly tiny amount has my brain feeling SSRI-fried. I'm considering switching to Prozac, or maybe the liquid formulation of Paxil, in hopes that the withdrawal may go more smoothly (ha). Prozac seems like a good idea... anyone have any advice?
