Hello, I have anxiety, depression and BiPolar2 (although I have far more low's than high's and the high's are not rally very high)

I can understand your unhappiness with the weight gain, since I see my weight creeping up from some of the meds I'm on (Lithium, Depakote).

I have never heard of weight gain associated with Lexapro; the one person I know who's on it has not gained a pound.

I can relate to your saying that you can barely function and that you really don't know how you've pulled yourself together enough to get out of bed. But you did! There have been day after day after day that I basically did not get out of bed.

You asked if anyone has any knowledge of Celexa 0 well I DO! I have been on it awhile, and I am hoping and praying and thinking that it is a matter of dosage that will prevent my cycling (going from feeling okay-to-good then crashing, okay-to-good then crashing, etc.)

I am also on KLONOPIN and have been for many years! I was worried that since it is a benzo (addictive, but it's the least addictive) that maybe my body had become immune to it, but I have recently come to the realization that it is still working. Knock on wood!

BusPar is another anti-anxiety med that gets a bad rap, but works for me.

My father has had SUCCESS WITH WELLBUTRIN and if I recall correctly it did take 4-6 weeks before it STARTED to work. (same as with SSRI's)

The only med that I know of that does NOT cause weight gain, in fact it causes weight LOSS is Topamax, which is an anti-seizure med also used as a mood stabilizer.

My knowledge about Wellbutrin in particular is very limited, HOWEVER, I can tell you that with these psychotropic meds - 11 days on any of them could indeed be enough to begin causing side effects. Pdocs always say that a person will feel the SIDE EFFECTS first, before the medicine kicks in (if it's going to kick in) and work. I don't know why this is, I guess it's the body getting used to the med.

Ideally, what should happen is the side effects should diminish after a couple of weeks and then within a week or so the med should start to work, if it's going to.

Hope this helps - good luck 2 U!
