Adding Effexor (SLS, Shar)

The problem is, I've heard that Effexor has a strong incidence of weight gain as a side effect. Since I am already more than double a reasonable weight for my size, I simply can't afford to start something that's going to pack more pounds on. My knees and ankles just can't take any more abuse.

Wellbutrin has, in the past, had the very welcome side effect of weight *loss* for me. The last time I was on it (about a year and a half ago), I lost roughly 40 pounds in three months with no effort whatsoever. That, and the fact that it helps me to wake up in the morning more easily, is why I'd rather augment it than switch to something else altogether.

Thanks very much for your input. I'll do some more research into Effexor, but I don't think it will be a good choice for me.
