Hi, I have been on 300 mg. of wellbutrin for about two months.....it was causing me too much anxiety, so my pdoc, told me to just stop it.....I asked if I should be weaned off, and she said, no, that stopping wellbutrin, shouldn't cause any big withdrawal symptoms......my pharmacist, said maybe insomnia, irritability, or anxiety, but nothing like the nausea and vomiting I experienced coming off of cymbalta. Anyone experience this, coming off wellbutrin cold turkey, w/out any problems? I am so scared.

Was greatly increased depression that set in rapidly... (That's why I've gone back on it...)
Truly -- it's not like Effexor or the other drugs that have a withdrawal associated with them. If you're taking the 300mg XL, then you don't have much choice. If you're taking two 150s, just take one for a few days. But either way, it's not likely to cause any trouble at all.
Good luck.

I agree about the 150. I had the exact same reaction when I went off 450 cold turkey. (Since then, and for the last few years, I have been on 150 and sometimes 300.) My depression returned as suddenly as jumping into cold water, but zero withdrawl side effects. I expect it will go smoothly. Be extra kind to yourself that first week not only because it's good to be kind to yourself, but because you might be more sad then you have been for awhile. Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah, I don't recall any great withdrawal problems -- it was causing a burning head sensation at night and racing thoughts and possible very minor hairloss (or maybe genetics). I think it was lowered fairly quickly. I assume you're talking SR/XR.But if it was helping depression even if it was causing anxiety you may experience rebound depression, so that is more of a concern I would think. A different plan to go in, perhaps Luvox/Paxil or Cymbalta or something else, or whatever you and your doctor come up with. Be prepared for that to happen and I'm sure there are some nice people here you can talk to if you get symptoms again before you see your doctor again.

I had a similar experience-went from 450 to 300 with mile dizziness for a couple days; then 300 to 150 mg, same thing. I figured the 150 wasn't doing anything (this was a few months later), so I stopped it. Depression and long daily naps came rolling in within a couple days...so back I went.
