I am at about 30 hours with no patch. My swelling is going down and I did sleep a little better last night. Just wondering what to expect over the next few days. I am really worried about a crash and burn as it's 2 weeks before I can even try something else.

Since it's so new maybe call the company that issues EMSAM. I don't think there's any info out there. Sorry Love Phillipa

Unfortunately, you are a pioneer of sorts. You probably won't get too many people reporting personal experiences at this point. I don't think withdrawal from Emsam will be much different than withdrawal from Parnate. You might experience fatigue, vivid dreaming, and perhaps some anxiety.
Although the half-life of Emsam is between 5-10 hours, it takes longer than that for the body to produce new MAO enzymes to replace those that have been disabled by the drug. You might experience withdrawal symptoms for a week or more. I doubt they will be intense, though.
Please post your experiences. I hope there isn't much to report.

I took Emsam for four weeks and just stopped taking it a few days ago. I've had bad headaches since then that haven't responded to Motrin 800mg. Hopefully these will go away soon.
