coming off of anti deps after 7 years

Posted by owenus32 on May 20, 2005, at 23:56:02

I'm on klonopin , 1 mg a day and I'm down to 15 or 20 mg of Cymbalta a day becuase it made me super agitated . I have no insurance and can;t go back to doc for more samples of some other drug so I'm just coming off of it. I wonder what will happen? I will pray and etc exercise hopefully get a job and not have to worry about losing my place. It's hard to tell whether you are "happy" orm "sad" when there are real problems going on and also it's hard to tell what normal is after 7 years. One good thing is that Sexual side afeects will finally be gone ! I'd love any input from pscho babble vets or dr bob on stopping ads after long term use.

Go slow! I know you probably have a limited supply but try to taper as slowly as possible. Know that it won't last forever (the withdrawal, I mean). Exercise will definitely help with depression and anxiety. Eat very well. Try to go to bed and get up at the same times each day to minimize possible sleep problems.

And keep posting here for support.

Good luck.

Marsha

Are you to continue on Klonopin?

Were you thinking of stopping all your meds at once? That would not be wise. Fondly, Phillipa

I was down to 15 mg cymbalta and I stopped. Bad Idea since I am at a crisis stage in my life with unemployment and my career field being in shambles layoffs wise. I stopped and had zingies constantly which dont usually bother me but this was like I felt like i was going to faint. I also felt like I was in the middle of the woods alone at dusk LOL depressed. So I will go back untill things settle down. I also felt like drinking again. I'm just afraid that my brain is incapable of functioning, like perhaps the ssris burned out my brain and now it doesnt produce the right chemicals on its own etc. Any input on my fears?
