Multiple Drug withdrawal--Help!

Posted by Hlar on May 11, 2005, at 22:55:17

This is getting ridiculous! First Zyprexa withdrawal insomnia, now Trazodone withdrawal insomnia! I'm taking 1mg of Klonopin, and 30mg of Restoril. I've been on the Klonopin for at least 6 years--2mg a day. I wonder if there's any hope of ever sleeping again naturally? How in the h*ll do these drug companies get away with keeping withdrawal syndromes from the public? I feel like I've been a guinea pig. I still have Klonopin withdrawal to look forward to,and Zoloft. Does anyone have experience with multiple drug withdrawal? Because I think my new Pdoc is going at this a little too enthusiastically.

I guess he thinks that only the Klonopin is addictive. My experience is with long term benzo and opiate use, where its hard to slow down on one without speeding up on the other. Klonopin withdrawal sounds difficult. (I've never taken it.) You need someone who knows their stuff.

Today is the first day in 4 months that I feel good. I quit the 5 year Zyprexa habit 4 months ago,had problems with the side-effects of the Trazodone to help with sleep, then withdrawal from that, and alot of fatigue and insomnia that I've already complained about.
I got a good 10 hrs of sleep with 1mg of Klonopin and 15mg of Restoril. I felt more energetic and clear-headed and positive, thank God.
I'm hoping I'm going to continue improving. I'm going to cut myself a break and wait a week before I begin the Klonopin taper. From other posts,it sounds very challenging. I've been on 2mg for 5-6 years. I'll reread the other posts concerning withdrawal, and talk to my Pdoc, who's the one that wants me at least to cut down.
