We are on the verge of a significant stock market collapse IMHO.

You scare me, Linkadge. I know that you are proficient in advanced mathematics and are well-versed in economic formulas. I think what the U.S. needs is a president, and not another four months of an electoral campaign with attendant political paralysis in Congress. Not many would be happy with me to learn that I think the Bush tax cuts should be allowed to expire in their entirety. Refinements to revenue collection can then be made according to the economic realities of today and likelihoods of tomorrow, and not the economic bliss of the Clinton years.

There was an article on facebook yesterday on how young people had something like an unemployment rate of almost 17% or could have been higher. It said this was higher than the recession of the 70's. New jobs are not being created. So much for older people. These were educated people also. They say now in order to work it's imperitive for you to know someone who knows someone who can help you obtain employment. Also seems the jobs are part time now as no benefits needed. Those with benefits are cutting them back. The 40's and 50's crowd here have lost so many of their benefits. This is the banking city also. Phillipa

I beg to differ.

Unless Europe collapses, the stock market will do okay.

The rest of us may not.
