There was a horrible disaster, a huge flood. Many people lost their lives.
Bob fled, but I didn't know if he made it out alive.
Bob left some roses on a rock (that were sticking out of the flood waters). Maybe Bob left them there to remember all those who died.
I found the roses. I decided to take them with me. Bob may have died and I wanted something of his. I was swimming, trying to find safety and I had to protect the roses at all costs. The flood waters were warm and I couldn't let the roses touch the water or they would die. The roses kept touching the waters.
All I could think of was protecting the roses, because the roses represented Dr. Bob and I couldn't let them die. It was very hard swimming with the roses.
The whole dream had an eerie feel to it, like it was the end of the world. I was the only person swimming. Maybe everyone died.
What do you think about my dream? I think it shows how much I love Bob.

I think I was also really selfish in my dream. Bob may have left the roses on the rocks for a reason and I took them away because I wanted something of Bob's.
I think it was also interesting how I was willing to risk my life just to have something from Bob.

Deneb- here's my take on it. Remember, This is a 100% complete GUESS!
You were in a crisis. You knew that you had to stay alive and get away from the flood. You had to swim hard. There was a thought of a man who is dear to you (Dr. Bob) and a physical reminder that he is alive (the roses). Although you are unable to swim to find Dr. Bob, you can do your best to save the roses, because the roses are all you know of Dr. Bob. Dr. Bob is mysterious, and the roses, while beautiful are also very delicate and tricky to save. You don't worry so much about Deneb drowning, or even so much about Dr. Bob drowning. The immediate focus of your attention is on preserving a symbol of love, beauty, and life. You are somewhat concerned that the symbol may not be "meant" for you, but you act swiftly to take them to a safer place.
The warm water means that you probably needed to get up and use the bathroom...
lol
This is an interesting dream. I think the most interesting part of it is that even in your dreams Dr. Bob is ephemeral and vacant- you can only allow yourself to take care of the traces that he leaves behind.

I like your interpretation on my dream. When I read it, I was like, "Yes! That sounds exactly right!" LOL
Interesting take on the warm waters too. LOL
It was interesting how Dr. Bob wasn't actually in my dream.

You don't swim do you Deneb?
Did you worry about taking the roses DURING your dream, or AFTER your dream when you were trying to figure it out?
I wondered if Dr Bob had abandoned Babblers (the roses) someplace he thought was safe (rocks on high ground)
But you weren't sure it was safe and you wanted something...
So you were looking after us where he left off.
But dreams are a Roarsarch (however you spell that) all around.
But yeah, if you dream of warm water in future you really should get up and go bathroom!

No, I don't know how to swim.

In the dream, Deneb, you didn't seem to be worried about dying yourself. In the dream, you could swim, even though you don't know how to (yet) in real life. I think perhaps the swimming represents being here on Babble-- where you are swimming and making connections that you haven't fully been able to make IRL.
Yet those connections-- to Bob, and to other on Pbabble-- are fragile-- can be overwhelmed by the flood of emotions that you still have at times-- even here. And you want (need) to learn how to swim in the same way in life, not just on Pbabble.
Bob represents someone who does connect, whose gifts and whose ability to remember the existence of those who are (possibly) lost--or not immediately present-- is something you cherish, and want to protect, and even to have for yourself. Your wish to keep it safe and to have it for yourself--in your taking and protection of the roses-- doesn't seem like a selfish thing-- although perhaps at moments it can feel, or even be, that-- it seems loving and very life-affirming.
The difficulty of keeping the roses safe, and the sense that you were alone-- those seem to be the almost overwhelming challenge that you face. But the dream suggests that you have confidence-- perhaps more than you realize most of the time-- that you can do that.
You're working at it, even in the difficulty-- and not giving up, even if the sense of separation and uncertainty about the future are so potentially frightening and even destructive.
It's a really beautiful dream. I'm glad you had it.

Thanks Jost for your interpretation. I loved reading it.
I liked your take on the swimming. It's true I can do things here that I can't IRL. Things like start and join conversations with confidence.
It would be great if my mind really did dream up all those metaphors. :-)

Jost's interpretation makes a lot of sense to me too, Deneb- you DO have a lot more competence than you acknowledge. Remember how you stood up and surprised yourself at the conference? How you used your voice and spoke from your heart? You say that it felt so wrong to you at the time, but from everyone else's reaction, it was a very important moment, and it came from a place of strength.
Well, sometimes you just don't realize that you can swim until you have to save something precious to you.
