Here's my list:

1) of suffocating. Yes, I have the fear that I will just suddenly stop breathing.

2) that one of my children will die.

3) that I will end up like either of my parent's- living a defeated, miserable, bitter life.

4) that I will not accomplish all the things God has planned for me

5) that I will get really fat

6) that they will ban all chocolate in the US

Funny if you read my last two becuase in a sense, they contradict each other. LOL

But i forget a few more:

* Spiders
* airplanes
* heights
* those nasty Cave Crickets you find in the South
*seafood

I think that pretty much covers it. LOL

hey spriggy-i agree.....if i started to bcome like either of my parents i would need ALLL the choc. in the US + some :-) Darn-then i'd be fat and that's a fear i have also. i could always share the choc. w/ya...LOL (we would then have 2 go 2 WW 2gether j/k) seriously though- a lot of people that i love are overweight but i guess from self-esteem isues i don't feel i wld be loved if i were overweight-does that make sense???-take care carolina

Terrorist attacks
War
Anthrax
Epidemics
Getting old (but one might say I'm already old)
Something *bad* happening to my children

I'm sure I could think of more.

Okay, well you better give us another one because I am one person who can testify to being very, very glad you exist. And to being incredibly proud, honoured and privileged to be your friend =0)

:-)
thanks.

i don't know that i can express it correctly... because it isn't just 'everyone' who matters, it is more the opinion of people i care about. maybe that it is that i'll really really care about / need someone and they will just wish that i never existed. or maybe not even to that extent. indifference. maybe that would be enough.

don't mind me ;-)

which isn't to say that you are in the 'everyone' category... that wasn't what i meant at all. i just mean that i know that there are people who are glad that i'm here.

:-)

but that that isn't a counter-example to show me that my worst fear will never be realised.

thats why i changed it trying to capture it better...

That I really am inferior to most people. Intellectually, creatively, hello! I still have some self esteem issues to work on.

Being in the 'self esteem issues' club doesn't feel nearly so bad when you know that the other members are such lovely people.

I'm not particularly clever, struggle to be humorous and rarely have much to offer in the way of wise counsel, sage advice or experience to offer. So I just try to return a little of what I've received so much of since I've been here, from so many wonderful people.

Thats exactly what we need a self esteem Board. So many of us have none. Should I post on Admin and ask Dr. Bob? Fondly, Phillipa

Yes, it seems to be at the bottom of a lot of issues for many of us, doesn't it?
Mine just seems so fragile, like I can't keep it sustained for very long...

Hello to you, too... Just lurking from time to time...

I love you guys- can't just leave altogether!!

My SO is still sticking with me. I'm pretty sure that my worst enemy is ME... Trying not to bite the hand that feeds me anymore, so to speak. I wish I could make all of my demons just GO AWAY!

I'm the ultra jealous one (been cheated on too many times); I'm the paranoid one (been abandoned too many times)...

HE'S the one who has to deal with it, however... I am trying to work these things through in therapy instead of lashing out at him when either the paranoia or jealousy strikes (and it's usually BOTH).

He tells me that he HAS figured out how lovely I am, and tells me that he wishes I could believe him; believe in us! Poor guy. I do put him through hell...

He is doing well with his anger management issues. We are now capable of having disagreements/debates without me getting scared before he's actually done anything and leaving or him being scary! It's rather nice, actually. To feel that I can speak my mind again, I mean.

If things don't work out with my honey, I'll come down and date you, okay?!? Unless you'd rather come to the states... but we'll cross that bridge (or in this case, ocean) when we get to it...(smile)

You really are just the sweetest man!

kisses,
sunny10

If you have the gumption to request a new board of our illustrious Dr. Bob, then you can't be THAT bad off in the self-esteem department!!!

Don't forget to laud your plans and accomplishments (smile).

Gosh, it's so nice to hear that things are working out for the two of you. You deserve to be happy and to feel loved and safe and I hope that the two of you can grow together into something spectacular and truly wonderful We tend to cherish those things that are hard-earned more than those things that come easily. So here's hoping that the hard work both of you are putting in will make you cherish each other and the relationship all the more as time goes by.

But just in case I'll be Googling gyms, personal trainers, plastic surgeons and cosmetic dentists as soon as I finish this post.

Now if I could just make myself believe the things people say about me........

XOXOXOX
Damos
