Gosh guys, I'm going through a hard time. I haven't written in a while. At the beginning of the year, I quit my miserable job and went back to school to get a degree in journalism. Still not 100% sure if I made the right decision, but I tried.
In the past week, I've been going through PMS hell. I have PMS almost every month, but for some reason this month it's worse. I'm so sad and irritable. Maybe it's because I have zero social support, I'm in the middle of a big change in lifestyle, I haven't been taking my Wellbutrin as regularly as usual, who knows.
Today I got banned from another message board for cussing out other members who made me mad. Sometimes other members will say stupid or insensitive stuff, but I don't unleash a firestorm on them. Someone in my class accidentally touched my hand, and I wanted to choke them. I knew it was because of PMS, but I still felt the feeling.
God, I am just so frustrated. The suffering is overwhelming and I've had recurring fantasies of suicide. I have almost no friends, I'm estranged from my family, I've endured deep depression for most of my 27 years on earth. It's ridiculous, nobody should have to suffer like this. I just want to have a few close friends and a boyfriend, but I'm afraid I'm too crazy.

Do you think your Wellbutrin was helpful for you in the past? If so, getting back on that routinely might make a difference.
Hormone H*llstorms are something alot of us can relate to. Maybe a checkup with "that doctor" might be helpful. Have some levels checked, studies done and the like. They will usually do some basic bloodwork too -- Check things like your thyroid in addition to hormones related to the netherregions.
Your big life changes could be a big factor, too. Disruption, even good ones, can make for uncomfortable adjustments our minds and bodies react to.
Hope you feel better.

I'm sorry you're feeling terrible right now. I have struggled with difficult PMS for years and I've found a few things that help. For a long time I was applying progesterone cream to the undersides of my arms twice a day. I use the natural soy stuff. It really helped my cravings and mood swings. Just follow the directions on the jar. I also take a B complex vitamin. It's important to take all 3 B vitamins together or else your body gets depleted of the other 2 (if you're only taking B6, for example). But the B complex really helps with cramps.
When I told my MD what I was doing, he looked at me strangely. But it's worked for me and several other people I know. Lastly, pleast take good care of yourself. It's so important to have a support structure. Do you have a therapist? That can be a great start. But there are great people here on Babble that can lend support too.

Definitely, have your doctor check you out for thyroid function. It can play havoc with your emotions. I was on Wellbutrin for almost a year, and even though it was the extended release version, whenever I missed a dose or took it way later than usual, I seemed to pay for it with my entire body, not "just" my mood. I think some of us are more sensitive or reactive that way??? I dunno.
Oh, and for supplements I found that a high dose Evening Primrose Oil (500mg per day) helped when taken a week before my period.

hang in there... i know what you're talking about. this last winter i got hit with the worst bout of depression/pms i've ever had. my psych diagnosed pmdd (i guess it's like the emotional side of pms, multiplied). i'm on lamictal and then i take prozac from the time i ovulate until about the third day of my period. it's been rough, and my boyfriend and i are taking a break until i even out a little. but i think it's working.
take care of yourself -- you are so not alone.
