i met a girl, one i think could be very very special. i won't go into specifics but she's a rarity....so i got her number...everybody says you've got to play it cool early...some say wait a week for the first call, some say 3 days....what's appropriate? I don't want to seem overly eager and scare her off...
(not to mention i just moved back from england, so i dont know anybody....i'm overly eager at meeting ANYBODY let alone her)
thanks!

My two cents say it doesn't matter how long you wait; it boils down to whether or not she wants to hear from you, period. If she seemed really fun to be around and positive about your company, she probably would like to hear from you. What d'you think?

i agree, and she really seemed to like me, but i've just had a bad string of girls where if i open up emotionally right away (which is me...very emotional/sensitive), they get scared off and drop off the radar. at this point when im still trying to makek friends since the move, and i get this great girl...best i've met since i moved back almost a year ago, I'm tryingn to be careful.
Alright, I'll spill everything...In addition to all this I was worried about a little quandry I've found myself in. I recently got a DUI charge, which in addition to previous tickets will add up to so many points that I will probably lose my lisence. Most importantly I want people to know that is NOT me. I aquired all the tickets within the last 4 months, and all while on the wrong meds (too strong at that) to deal with my depression/anxiety. Prior to that, I hadn't had a single ticket of any kind, driving or non, my entire life.
She lives 20 minutes away and I'd obviously need to do some driving. The sentencing, ack i hate to even say words like that; it's really not me, is in a couple weeks, so that's when i'd lose the lisence. i don't want to break it to her on the phone before we even meet up in a non-party atmosphere that i have this situation. she'd think i have real legal probems...on the other hand, i don't want to scare her off with a lot of psycho-mumbo-jumbo.
i had thought of trying to get together with her once, before i lose the lisence, so she gets to know the real me a bit, then break it to her...but i dont want to act like im holding things from her. but the depression thing is the only way i can tell her without her thinking im a jailbird! ahhhhhhhhhhh

becksA:
if it were me, i would wait about telling her about the depression/DUI, that's a heavy load.
i hope you can get together sometime in the upcoming week without having to spill about the timing of events. if you enjoy spending time together, that should be enough.
when did you see this girl? was it today? i would wait until at least tomorrow - i think everything looks different when you sleep on it.
good luck!

well,
i met her friday night at a club, so today is the "full day" of waiting, i was thinking i'd call tomorow or monday....since its labor day and just an extended weekend. again, i hate how there are so many unwritten rules.secondly, about not telling her, that's just it. i'm thinking if i hang out with her once this week, then next time tell her that, it'll be like i was keeping a secret, yes, no?

Gosh becks, it sounds like you're equating the real you with your car.

IMO Becks, you're not keeping a secret because you don't tell her every detail of your life on the first date. You might be thinking ahead a bit *too* much, what d'you make of that? Remember, IMO.
