I've been out of work all week.... I'm sure you can tell by all my posts, they are everywhere, but what I haven't shared is that I'm into this self hypnosis thing.
Mostly things about being depressed, dealing with pain, lots of stuff. But,.. you can only work on one thing at a time... and I'm working on my chronic pain.
But.... just as a test.... to see if this is really working..... I made a tape for myself(a self hypnosis tape).... the first 60 minutes of it was just me talking myself into relaxing.... in that time I always fall asleep.. anyway, I added after this 60 minutes... "The first thing I am going to do when I get up in the morning is go in the kitchen and brush my teeth." I repeated it over and over and over.
So I wake up this morning..... I didn't exactly go right into the kitchen... I went into the bathroom first to go... then I went to the kitchen... couldn't find my toothbrush.. was slightly confused... then started laughing realizing what I had done. How ironic too that I was in the bathroom first tho huh? Anyway... at least that part worked. Now... if I can never smoke again... not be depressed.... get towels out of my breast...... I'll be ok. Hope everybody's good. Back to work tomarrow so you'll probably be glad I disappear for a little while. I know I probably post to much. Thankx to everyone for listening and helping me, Kristi

> Do you think I might be able to use subliminal messages like that with my children while they sleep? Like "the first thing you're going to do is pick up the clothes on the floor." This could be a wonderful thing - you can tell them stuff and they won't talk back.

Or:
when you pee in the toilet, your aim will be accurate and if not,You will clean up after yourself
You will not leave legos on the floor where your mother in her bare feet will step on them
You will put dirty dishes in the dishwasher
You will empty the dishwasher when the dishes are clean
You will CHECK the dishwasher to see if the dishes are clean BEFORE you put any dirty dishes in....
oh, oh, you got me going...

May I add:
You will do your homework
You will not show your middle finger

You will not kick
You will .....

Willow,
I was actually referring to the towel.... or cloth, or sponge(all doctors call it something different) that was left in my chest.
On that subject.... I had to sign a release form for the responsible doctor's insurance policy to get all my medical history since I was 16. More or less a stall tactic. Sickening tho... like.... my lawyer said they were mainly looking for mental illnesses. Like I would actually cut open my chest.... stuff a towel in their... and sew it up????? My god, they get desperate. The funny thing is.... the only thing they are going to findis thatInever saw a therapist UNTIL AFTER this happened. Go figure. The law is a funny thing. Venting again.........

You go ahead and vent, rant, pout, scream here! Whatever makes you feel better. I had thought you were referring to nursing, by my third child I leaked like a watering can and had to sleep with a thick towel under me so I wouldn't soak the mattress. And I thought that sucked, goes to show me it could have been worse.
Doctor incompetence. Some years ago my husbands cousin was in an accident. His family kept bringing him to the hospital and doctor because he was complaining of severe abdominal pain. Nothing wrong they were told. He died from a ruptured spleen before he was old enough to vote. Apparently his death could have been prevented.
On a lighter side, I've suffered with debilitating fatigue and lack of stamina for the past five years. Recently I went for a sleep test which showed that I have sever limb movements and because of this my iron level was checked. Turns out to be low, a 5 when it shouldn't be under 15 and with the limb movements the doctor is going to try for 50. Here's my compaint - Any numbskull would have suspected iron when there are complaints of fatigue. Why wasn't this checked?
I'm just wondering if you had compained of discomfort after the surgery? Did they neglect to investigate? Were you patted on the head and told to relax?
My mother would ask did they do this, have they tested that, ... ? My reply, "Yes, mother!" everything is fine, though I never asked. I had assumed that the doctor knew best. What a fool am I!
When everyone is telling you that you are a quack it is hard not to start seeing a duck in the mirror!!

I'm sorry. I guess if you haven't been following my threads, it would have been impossible to know what I was talking about.

I used to hate lawyers.. now I hate all doctors. Sorry to all you doctors reading this.

Sounds extremeley frustrating. I'm not even a doctor.... the first thing, honestly, if someone complained of those problems would be to check if they are anemic(iron deficient... sure you know that). .. or VB deficient.
I'm sorry.... Fatigue really does suck. It makes every part of every thing worse. So I take it your on Iron? Are you on anything else? B12 shots are anything like that? I'm no doctor(hee hee) but Ihear the combo works well FOR SOME. (disclaimer their.)

> I'm just wondering if you had compained of discomfort after the surgery? Did they neglect to investigate? Were you patted on the head and told to relax? After the surgery I saw 22 doctors.... ranging from oncologists, general practitioners, breast dotors, plastic surgeons.... I spent 8 months with the.... your all right pat on the head. The hard part with me was that nothing showed up on any tests,,,, and I demanded them all.... patient from hell.... ct scan, mri, ultasound... all of them showed nothing..... yet I had these visible gumball to golfball size lumps. This never made sense to me... EVERYSINGLE doctor.... they saw these lumps, felt these lumps, yet said it was noting.... the test results were fine. I was the biggest hypochondriac to these people. It got to the point where doctor's were more traumatic than what I was going to.
Finally..... with a consult with a lawyer and signing a lot of legal documents... a surgeon agreed to go in and "explore"..... that's when he started taking about piece by peice of this old cloth.
YOU THINK THEY BELEIEVED ME WHEN I COMPLAINED AFTER THIS??????????????? Nope.
The doctor was so sure he got it out... again, nothing showed up in the x-rays(to me that a sure fire hint that somethings wrong... when all these tests so nothing, yet you can SEE something.) I don't know if I mentioned the doc originally used a cloth that is illegal to even have in an op room. I guess everything that goes into your body has this metallic strip thingy on it so it's detectable in any x-rays... for this reason.So.... He kept saying.... give it time, I got all the cloth out.... I knew there was more. No doctor wanted to get involved at this point... again, I was a hypochondriac, this was just normal healing.
Finally.... found a good doctor..... he has preformed the last 2 surgeries their was of course a lot more of this cloth the other surgeon had missed. so yes Willow.. YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. I have the biggest fear of doctors. Anyone know the name of that?
> My mother would ask did they do this, have they tested that, ... ? My reply, "Yes, mother!" everything is fine, though I never asked. I had assumed that the doctor knew best. What a fool am I!
Not a fool at all! We are brought up to trust doctors.... they are the ones to save us, help us, make us all better. They had all the great schooling. What a crock. But how were we to know? I am a bigger fool than you.... alto.. it will never happen again. If I was just a little younger... I would go to school to become a surgeon..... just to go do the job right....WITH a bedside manner to boot. Your young enough.... go to medical school for me????> When everyone is telling you that you are a quack it is hard not to start seeing a duck in the mirror!!
So true!

Hang in there willow, do what's best for you with this fatigue stuff to.... listen to your doctor, but listen to you body more. If you don't like what you hear...go thru 22 doctors if you have to.. but get there. My heart goes out to ya. Hang in there.
