Paris Commune

These ahistorical nincompoops might reflect on......

'Indeed, when the Yankee socialists called for a mass demonstration in New York City to commemorate the martyrs of the Paris Commune, the first rank in the parade went to a company of black soldiers known as the Skidmore Guard. The demonstration passed by a quarter-million spectators. The sight of armed black men in the vanguard was electrifying.'

What happened? Brain death by plutocracy?

Woodrow Wilson destroyed the Reconstruction and reparations. He segregated the federal government and revived the Klan. He also rewrote the post-civil war history. These are the major reasons a household member despises Wilson. The damage of his racism was tragic, unnecessary, and ultimately, set us back as a country, and we are still dealing with the fallout.

He screened Birth of a Nation at the WH. It sounds like something the current administration would do. They've f'd up the immigration system, and we'll be digging out from that for years, not to mention the damage it is doing to an entire generation of immigrants.

Maybe I can find Birth of a Nation on youtube?

We just missed out on this bloke as PM. Isn't he choice? Quite a sight. From a family of nation builders himself, I'll bet.

I don't understand what is happening with deportation and NZ and Australia. What is Australia doing or planning to do to further the neofascist immigration agenda?

We've mentioned cruelty being the point. I came across an article from 2017 that is exemplar bar none and explains all you need to know about the MAGA project. USA! USA! USA!

It's long, so it's ok to skip. There is too much to read :(

As much as we can consistent with our Judeo-Christian heritage. (That can't be written without it feeling very odd. Interesting.)

I'll look at the link.

< The context of all this is that ranching is a pathological culture, she said. Whatever is wild and free needs to be subordinated. Its beyond competing for grass. The idea that wild horses are out there at all f*cks with the ranchers head. He just doesnt get it, that there are wild things out there with a right to exist. Whats happened to horses is about the corruption of our government by the livestock industry.

true dat.

New Zealand is a land of dairy farmers.

More to the point, Waikato (where I am from) is very much a land of dairy farmers.

New Zealand - China relations were fostered because all the dairy farmers in New Zealand aspired to feed infant milk powder to all of the babies in China.

Sigh.

And theeeeeeeeeeeeeen... They got greedy and started contaminating the milk powder that made it look like it has a higher protein content. And the contaminant (melamine or something) turned out to be... Toxic. Oops.

Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery recently (over the last year) New Zealand has started to advertise animal / dairy free. Advertise vegetarian or even animal-free (vegan).

That represents a significant development from the whole exploitation of animals mentality / culture that we are very very very very very much based on.

I hear the story where they say about the American Dream and they say about the Nevada reality.

New Zealand *doesn't have a dream*.

It only has the Nevada reality.

There is no ideology, here.

It is interesting about the rounding up affecting the behavior of the horses. Stressing them out so they become hyper-sexual as a source of confort.

Reminds me of adolescents in Dunedin.

An 'immuno-contraceptive' good for 1 season at USD $25 a pop.

Hur.

I am trying to remember what I know about horse reproduction...

The females are 'on heat'. I don't remember how often.

It is a strange thing.. People's attitude. Behavior.

I studied environmental ethics years and years and years ago, now.

I remember one of the issues we looked at was whether there would be anything wrong with... Blowing up a planet if there wasn't sentient life on it and if we knew for a fact that sentient life would never discover it.

It is a way of asking whether non-sentient life has intrinsic value or only instrumental value to our interests.

I remember reading some essay about ones attitude in climbing a rock face. About one attitude being to conquer it. Overcome it. Dominate it. Master it.

About another attitude in climbing the rock face of... Something more like mutual respect. Appreciation for it. Communing with it. Learning from it.

So it really comes down to the sentient being and how they approach the things around them.

All the way back when I grasped the ideology of learning from the rock face.

Other people still have a hard time in showing special care towards beings capable of pain and suffering.

Other people still have a hard time in allowing other people. In allowing articulate and demonstrably compassionate people...

Allowing anything at all... TO be free.

Sigh.
