If I can't totally agree with either side or "sides" is it being unamerican to just stay uninvolved because I am not ignorant, but just choose to not commit to any canidate? So is it okay not to vote if I don't support any canidate fully?

I think "staying out" until you agree 100% with some candidate fails to recognize that politics always involves compromise.
But there's a limit, too. Some things should not be subject to compromise. There's also a point where it makes sense to resist the evil of two lessors by refusing to vote for the lesser of two evils.
So I don't think there's a one-size-fits-all-situations answer

Thanks... though I swiped "the evil of two lessors;" I have no clue who said it first, but I first heard it about 25 years ago.
This is the end of the thread.
