I was asked by some dumbfuck TV station thingo (MSN, I believe) whether drug runners deserved the death penalty.
I'm glad I'm as old as I am. This world will be uninhabitable, for many of us.

Please don't bypass the automatic asterisking system to post a form of a vulgar word.
If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
Follow-ups regarding these issues should be directed to Admin and should of course be civil. Dr. Bob has oversight over deputy decisions, and he may choose a different action.
Respectfully,
10derHeart, acting as deputy for Dr. Bob

Tell me about the automatic asterisk system.
Do you mean that if the word to which you allude is on its own then the asterisking works, but if it is joined to others it does not?

I apologise for my unseemly rudeness. I was angered by the question.
Do you know the BBC (for heavens sake) had a pilot for an 'Evict a Refugee' program, where all the viewing public would get to vote on who should be expelled? (Would they have been real refugees?)
When it got into the press it was canned.
Makes you want to bring back the divine right of kings.

Sounds like direct media democracy with a touch of '1984' by George Orwell.
I am not sure if Queen Elizabeth II would host a show like that, but I sure would watch it.

Essentially, yes. It's able to catch the basic forms of vulgar words, as it says here in the FAQ:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
".....include words and phrases considered often or usually disparaging, obscene, offensive, or vulgar by Merriam-Webster OnLine. If you have automatic asterisking turned on (and don't bypass it), the server takes care of potentially offensive language, but some unnecessary asterisking may occur. If you turn off automatic asterisking, you have more freedom to express yourself, but you're also responsible for your language."
.....and you can fool it by combining one of those with something to make a new, compound word, as you did. Which, BTW, I do realize could have been totally inadvertent on your part :-)
Also, do you have yours turned 'off?' It's on by default, but it's a setting you can change.
