I should read:

"Mission Statement:

The International Society for Mental Health Online (ISMHO) was formed in 1997 to promote the understanding, use and development of online communication, information and technology for the international mental health community. To this end, ISMHO seeks to:

6. develop standards for online interactions between mental health professionals and consumers"

and THEN say, #6 on the ISMHO list is: etc.

Sorry. Kath

star008,
You wrote,[...to develop communication standards...I don't think there are any...do you?..]
Years ago, a guest of Mr. Hsiung was here named Kali Munro (sp)?. That person and myself were in dialog here and there was posted to me by Kali a statement using the phrase, "the rules".
Where are these rules, and to whome are they revealed? My friends, there has been a body of thought that was popularized about 40 years ago that have strikingly similar uses of phrases that are used in the administration of this site. I was a critic of that system when it was popularized in 1970 or so. Since time has run, there are many other critics of that system of communication and the critics agree with what I thought about that system at the conception of the popularity of the books to promote that system. You could email me if you like for this infomation and then have possibly some additional infomation to make your own informed determination as to if what was popularized 40 years ago is similar to "the rules" that can be seen in this site's administration. For Mr.Hsiung has made rules here about a year ago that I am unsure as to if I can post links to other's writings or even post links here of a post that has been allowed to stand here.
For those that could want to search on their own, one could start by doing a search using the names, Thomas A. Harris and Lenarrd Bernstein who changed his name. (redacted by respondent) this system but would like to email about. Then by email, I would like to show you where those two authors could have had access to other infomation going back centuries, but that the new rules here made about a year ago or so make it unsure to me as to if I can post that here.

Lou, I feel that since Dr. Bob wrote that letter to the Pres. candidates about effective communication between membership and leadership yet here we all are asking for direction and clarification and yet nothing from him in this regard, I am now feeling like a science experiment and I have disclosed very very personal things here. I feel much like I have been let down. Like to him, I am nothing but a lab rat in a cage. That is what I meant. And suddenly I have nothing more to share. It has never been easy for me to open up, I took a huge chance to open up on the psychology board saying the things I have said, I have not posted there since this issue has come to like, I have a deep pit of nothingness in my chest like I have been once again used to just be studied. That is what i meant. I am just waiting now to see what happens. It has been disturbing to say in the least. Somehow this issue has made me feel that all my revelations will come back to bite me in the *ss. You know what i mean.

I feel like part of a lab experiment that is being observed dispationately, unemotionally & uncaringly.

It doesn't feel at all good. Was I promised more? I guess not. Does that make it feel ok? No it doesn't.

You wrote,[...nothing from him...feeling like a science experiment...feel..like I have been let down...I am nothing...I have nothing...not posted there since...a deep pit of nothingness...I am just waiting...It has been disturbing...].
I think that your post shows, to me, something that stands out from being a member/participant of this site at this time in relation to the goals of the forum of being for support and education. Looking at the words posted by you such as the words {nothing}, {feel}, {let down}, {just}, {not}, {am}, {deep pit},{disturbing}, I see an overall perception indicated by your words that stand out to me.
There is a method of using words written to deduce what a person's psychological profile is at the time that they write such. I am not an expert at doing that, but perhaps there is someone here that has that expertise and could post to you in this thread concerning your feelings here.
I also know of a remedy for the feelings that you express here in your post but there have been new rules made here about a year ago and I am unsure as to if I could post links and posts from here that have been left to stand here that talk about the remedy for your feelings that you have posted here.

I really do appreciate your offer to try and make me feel better. Kath is right maybe it was never his intent to make us feel safe here but somehow I did and now I don't. Maybe Dinah's resignation was just the catalyst that lead to the storm. I don't want her to feel bad. But now he must for staying silent which I perceive as another experiment on Bob's part and not busy(iness) at all.

Again, thanks

If I think of anything to email you about I will. I just feel empty right now without much to say, I will watch and see.

rsk,
You wrote,[...maybe it was never his intent...].
Some generally accepted meanings of {intent} are that there is a design or purpose to what is intended. As to determining as to if there is intent or not, one can go to the TOS here and try to determmine if there is an intent and if so, to determine as to what is the intention.
Going to the TOS here, Mr. Hsiung posts a request for members to trust him in two aspects.
One is to trust him that he is doing his best to be fair and the other is to trust him that he is doing what in his thinking will be good for the community as a whole.
Since these are requests to {trust}, a generally accepted meaning of to {trust} is to place confidence or reliance in some type of relationship for something in the future to be delivered. These things could be what the goal of the forum is for, which is for support and education.
To determine if that is the intent of Mr. Hsiung here or not could be determined by as to see if what is what the members could think is intended is in fact delivered as to the members receiving what they think is what is intended, support and education.
This placing of confidence is sometimes thought of as a {promissory note}, like a check, which is a promise to pay. Sometimes one will give a check to someone and stop-payment before it is cashed and the recipiant goes to the bank and is told that the check will not be honored. Sometimes when someone has a check not honored by the bank it could be because there is insufficient funds in the account and sometimes the check could be a forgery. If the check is not honored by the bank, then the maker of the check could be a debter to the one that the check was made to, for the promise to deliver was not honored.

Let us go on to see if a determination can or can not be made here concerning the situation at hand here.
The TOS here states that Mr. Hsiung wants to be open to feedback which is coupled with the statemnet requesting that members try to accept what he decides and trust him to be fair and that he does what in his thinking will be good for the community as a whole.
A generally accepted meaniing of {feedback} is that there is a {controlling source} and that those giving feedback to the controlling source could be looking for the controlling source to be corrected or clarified. If one assumes that there is a {trust} involved in this wanting to have feedback from reading Mr. Hsiung's TOS here, then could not there be members here that expect the feedback that is written as in the TOS here to be delivered?
If so, then those expecting delivery and the feedback is not delivered, could then those people suffer from some type of anxiety from such as disappointment and unfulfilled expectations that they thought were something to be expected as some type of promise? An if so, how could that situation to those people effect their mental health? Would a situation like that facillitate support from others if they are experiancing anxiety from the unrealized expectation of their feedback not being delivered? In another sense, could those people that expect feedback and the feedback is not delivered, be subjected to a situation where they can not get support from other members here because of the anxiety that they experiance from the undelivered, that they expect, to be delivered and so that their focus is away from suppport from others about what they originally were seeking?

Sigismund,
You wrote that you would like to hear about the French Revolution and the coral reef..]
Before I write here concerning your post, let us go back to the ancient Greek concepts of the city-state. The city-state was like a church-state but that there were many gods and that the people were considered as to if they could be strong and if children were not strong they were killed so thta the state would not according to them, be burdened with unhealthy children. This is called infanticide and was ligitimized by the thinking of those that practiced this ideology that the city-state is {the whole} and each person was part of the whole so that killing those children was in their minds doing what would be good for the city-state as a whole. This can be seen by doing a search for {Plato}. Later, Dawinism and National Socialism implemented this thinking again up to 1945.
Plato laid the groundwork for the ideology that the community is an {organism}, like in our discussion as a coral reef. I could later tie this in with European fascism from 1922 to 1945.
The Platoian ideology was replaced by the foundation of Judaism that considered life to be sacred in that those that believed in the god that the Jews worshiped, in that they accepted a comandment that they XXX. This view of humanity was spread through Europe from the first century C.E by those that considerd that a Jewish Rabbi that was called Jesus of Nazareth, came to earth to proclaim the Kingdom of God. That ideology replaced the many gods of the Greeks and that man held the commandments of their God to them, such as the commandment not to murder, higher than the state and then the ideology of the church-state came into being.
But in the 16th and 17th centuries, there were European philosophers that were writing against those that held to the foundation of Judaism. The Jacobins led into the French Revolution with a period of murder and wanted to establish a "religion of reason" based on some aspects of Platoism. Robespierre, the leader, took the cathedral of Notre Dame and called it a "temple of reason", took down the symbols of the religion there and replaced them with a female statue known as the "goddess of reason".
This brought in the ancient Plato ideology and led to Fredrich Nietzsche and the ideology of National Socialism that ended in Germany in 1945.
There is more to this...

Sigismund,
Then in the 1800's untill 1945 the ideology was developed thinking that the country was an organism and that the people were to exist for the good of the state as a whole, thinking that the country was a living thing and infanticide was reinstituted along with the systematic murder of others that were deemed to be those that could be not good for the community as a whole. This ideology meant that there could be groups of people that could cause, in their thinking, disease to the whole and scapegoating came into vogue of groups of people or just one person in that group.
The tactics used in European fascism, that used this ideology from 1922 to 1945, was to stigmatize a group of people with false accusations by ,in some cases, using the tactic if {innuendo} to have the others think that they had to be segregated for the good of the country's survival, stigmatizing those in that group as harming the whole by something that was made up to arrouse ill-will toward people of that group as that they are harming the whole.
These countries were usually made up of people that surrendered their will to one man to fulfill his own ambitions.

It didn't die out completely, Lou.

We, at any rate, had a resurgance of a soft form of it in recent years.

Sigismund,
You wrote,[...It didn't die out...a resurgance ..in recent years...].
Could you elaborate on that?

Mr. Hsiung,
You wrote,[...yet {only}...{it} can be {hard}...]
I am unsure as to what you are wanting to mean as to the {only} and the {it} in your statement in question and as to wwhat you are wanting to mean as to the {hard} as to the {it}.
Could you offer more to what you wrote here so that I could have a better understanding of what you are wanting to mean so that I can post a response to what you could post here to my request? If not, could you post here in this thread why you can not offer more clarificartion and/or identification of what you are wanting to mean here?
You see, if you are wanting to mean that something is hard , let's say, {to understand}, or even to {accept}, or something else, then could not more clarification and/or identification of what you are wanting to mean be good for the community as a whole? I base this on your writing here that you are wanting feedback and that you take responsibility for what you post and that if someone wants to know your rationale to just ask you and that it is fine to discsuss actions that you take, remind you of outstanding requests and rules and policy here and such. If not, could you post here why not because of your TOS that says that you do what in your thinking will be good for the community as a whole and that you want people to trust you concerning that? If you could, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
