I guess that would be me. The easiest way to get to babblemail is to click on the poster's name in a post from them (if they have it turned on). It's also listed on the new general information page:

And you can also bookmark it directly:

Thanks,

First click on "more information" near the top of any main page, then click on "general information" near the top of that page.

Dr. Bob,
It still isn't easy to find. Shouldn't it be just one easily identifiable click away?

I think it would make more sense, at least in my brain, if "General information" were the first layer, and then "more information".

Well, that's the way it was before, but with lots of things one click away, I thought it got kind of cluttered.

I guess icons would be a little better than words?

OK, let's give the icon a try. Should I add it to the links after each board's introduction?
And what about the features without icons?

I'd like to, can you suggest one that's been validated and is in the public domain?
FYI, I already plan to add the Group Evaluation Scale and part of the Therapeutic Factors Inventory. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Social Anxiety
http://www.anxietyhelp.org/information/leibowitz.htmlLSAS Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale
The Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale is a clinician-administered (interview) scale to evaluate the wide range of social situations within the last 7 days that are typically difficult for individuals with social phobia. The LSAS includes 24 items, 13 describing performance situations and 11 items describing social interaction situations. Each item is rated for fear (0 to 3 = none, mild, moderate, severe) and avoidance (0 to 3 = never, occasionally, often, usually). Thus, the LSAS provides an overall social anxiety severity rating, and scores on 4 subscales: 1) performance fear, 2) performance avoidance, 3) social fear, and 4) social avoidance. Total scores for fear and avoidance as well as total LSAS scores are achieved by summing of the scores.
It's widely used as an outcome measure in clinical trials.

Thanks for looking into this. Do you know if there's a self-report version, too? And whether it's in the public domain? Thanks,
Bob

I'm procrastinating so many things right now...
Reference: Liebowitz MR. Social Phobia. Mod Probl Pharmacopsychiatry 1987;22:141-173
It's in the public domain as a self report scale. Did you click on the link I posted?
here's a sample readout.
Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale - ResultsYour score:
3 (fear) + 3 (avoidance) = 6
The scoring scale:
55-65 Moderate social phobia
65-80 Marked social phobia
80-95 Severe social phobia
Greater than 95 - Very severe social phobiago figure. I guess I'm braver than I thought I was

I did, but I didn't see anything about it being in the public domain. And I couldn't find Mod Probl Pharmacopsychiatry 1987 online.
Hmm, there's some question about whether the self-report version is as valid as the clinician-administered one?
Thanks for your help with this,
Bob

Wouldn't that be true about all self report tests? Except maybe as a measure of change over time?
To tell the truth, I can't see why it isn't a problem with clinician administered ones too. I know I've gotten some pretty weird answers from standardized mood tests, because how you interpret the questions and the answers can vary widely between people or at least between myself and other people. Or even between myself on one day or another.
My sleep doctor always gives a standard sleepiness test each visit, and I always want to tell him not to take it too seriously.

Michael Liebowitz was the doctor who first diagnosed me when I was screened at Columbia Presbyterian in 1982. He told me that I shouldn't worry; that 85% of people get well on TCA or MAOI. Who would have figured that I would end up in that minority 15%? The doctor is an extremely compassionate human being who has contributed much in the areas of atypical depression and social anxiety disorders.
