My pdoc doesn't think my love for you is harmful. She thinks it's good that I'm forming attachments 'cause before I would just see people as objects. That's what she said. She thinks Babble is good for me.
In real life I kind of don't form relationships with people, but on Babble I have formed some. My pdoc thinks it's great. She thinks it's a transition state for me and maybe someday I'll be able to have a relationship with someone face to face. A lot of times, she tells me to take what I've learned from babble and apply it to real life. On Babble when I chat first I say "Hi" to everyone. She thinks I could try that with people at work.
I'm learning how to have conversations with people on chat. I'm learning how to show care, concern and interest in other people. I have friends on babble so I must be learning. Now I just have to apply this in real life.
She thinks loving you is also a transition state. You're safe to love because we will never have a real relationship. So, you're like practice.
I think the only other thing I got attached to was my hamster hammie.
I have a lot of trouble with relationships, but Babble lets me form some. Thanks for all your hard work.
I'm doing really well these days. I never want to kill myself now. I'm working and going to class and guess what I got on my organic chem II test? I got 91%! Before I got an F because I didn't study. My pdoc was proud of me.
My Mom was worried that I was too engrossed in Babble and that it might prevent me from studying, but that hasn't happened.
Babble also helped me do things I never thought I could do, like fly to D.C. to meet Babblers.
Anyways, I wrote this cuz you were interested in how Babble helped Ron Hill so maybe you're interested in how it helped me too. Maybe we can start this thread about how Babble has helped or not helped us.

Deneb,
I don't know whether to smile or cry when I read this post. Smile because I am so happy for you, and proud of you and extremely impressed by you. (You do realize, right, what persistence and resilience and just plain guts it's taken you to make these steps, get to this point?) Cry because...well, because of the same stuff I suppose - I'm someone whose emotions are all pretty close to the surface and I feel both sad and joyful things intensely. So...the 'crying' would only be the good kind :-)
I - and many others here - have witnessed your growth and transformation, and I'm sure we'll continue to do so. I'll bet I could speak for others, too, when I say it's an honor to Babble with you and to 'know' you, even if that's mainly here and not *IRL.* As your pdoc so wisely put it, a place like Babble and the people who *are* Babble do matter, they are helpful, they are, after all, real people, that's why you can have real relationships with them/us.
Deneb, I want you to know, in case you don't, that the journey you're on, or specifically - allowing us to share some of it - actually is performing a measure of healing for others at the same time you experience it. Does that make sense? Isn't it great to think maybe at the same time you feel so much better and life has more 'life in it' for you, someone reading this could be inspired, want to emulate you, have hope that if you could do this, so could they?
I think it's awesome that you posted this, and I must admit I'm almost at a loss for the right words to express how I felt when I read it. And once I get up the nerve and energy to post....well, I'm *never* supposed to be at a loss for words! Not talkative me - lol!
