Most people don't visit most of the boards most of the time. For example, I recently posted a question on 'Health'. But nobody ever goes to 'Health', they all hang out over at 'Main', 'Social' and 'Psychology'. You might as well not post on any of the other boards, because nobody ever visits those boards and your questions never get answered. Had I posted my question on 'Main', I would have had half-a-dozen responses by now, but I would also have been in trouble for posting on the wrong board.

And the ultimate - to have a thread redirected from the main board to one of the smaller boards - is a sure way to stop it cold.As I've heard it said before, "it's an issue."

SNORT!
"It's a issue" for me, too. I never know where to post about my ADHD, so I usually just don't.

Yes, it is annoying. I once put a lot of effort into researching a natural benzodiazepine-like compound, but I had to post it on Alternative and hardly anyone goes there. Only one person that actually goes there bothered to reply to it, and I was bitterly disappointed that it didn't get more attention/admiration. Is it illegal to post on one of the 'lesser' boards then send up a flare on Main to alert the herd, possibly with a link?

It is not considered civil to double post, that is, to duplicate one post on another board; but putting a link would be perfectly suitable. It was just a week or so ago that I posted begging a reply on the Social board, asking for replies for threads I'd started elsewhere. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I would not have done so if I hadn't, in fact, felt desperate.

Hmmm, it is a thot I have had too.
Mind you, LOL! its easy on pesychology, cuz all you have to do is add.....and my T...!!! LOL!!!
So i could say I researched this benzo compound..and...ROFL..discussed repercussions WITH MY T!!! and so it could stay on psychology...wonder if that'd work on other boards too in some fashion???

I've always thought that the problem in order for the thread to continue was that you had to post a reply on the redirected board and might have nothing to say at that moment in time. If this aspect could change things would flow more smoothly. Phillipa ps that's so you get notified of the thread.
This is the end of the thread.
