If we got a warning 1 week ago or one year ago, how long does PBC warning last? If there is no official rule (which I am assuming there isn't), who gets to make the decision? Is it an objective decision then or does it become subjective to who is deciding? Just wondering.

At least it should be simple and made public in the rules for all to see, so we can make our choices.

No fair in getting blocked if we don't know the rules of how long a PBC lasts.

Is this PBC in general about everything, for instance you get a PBC for one kind of offense, that PBC is always in effect for ALL offense of civility?
or is it situational. You get a PBC because of something you say about the president or the war, and will only get blocked if you continue to be uncivil about the war or the president.

So once you have gotten a PBC, no matter what the circumstances are, and if a PBC is forever, then that means that that person no longer gets ANY warnings, and are immediately blocked?
So even if in the past you were blocked, and paid your dues from your punishment, it still is not forgiven because the first offense will always be there?
Plus I would like my post above answered too officially, since the rules don't specify.I feel we should all know what the rules are, and they need to be enforced the same way, no matter who it is, everytime. If everyone has a different view on how the rules are to be enforced, and not written official in the rules, it leaves deputies in a postion of having to make that decision based on what they feel, which opens the possiblity of it being a subjective decision, not an objective one.

In reply to can anyone give me an official answer to this????, posted by Happyflower on April 22, 2007, at 12:13:07
I believe, and Dr. Bob can correct me, that the official policy is that any PBC counts as a PBC, regardless of type, that once you've gotten a PBC, you can be blocked for any future civility infraction, no matter the type. After that, Dr. Bob's formula determines whether doubling or tripling is involved, and how many weeks you start out with.
However, there is subjectivity, and application is usually far more restrained than what is allowed. I personally do not see this subjectivity as a bad thing, and have actually campaigned for more leniency. I believe that the formula Dr. Bob applies is his attempt at incorporating some of the ideas that I and others have put forth.
This is the end of the thread.
