I'm sorry, you've probably mentioned this already, but I'm confused. Are there two deputies? Is Dinah on leave from her deputy duties because of the hurricane? Perhaps it's just my imagination, but it seems as if there are quite a few people issuing "PBC's" or words to that effect. Are non-deputies allowed to issue PBC's?

Deputies are listed in the FAQs - at the moment they are Dinah, Gardenergirl, and AuntieMel (and what a fine crew we have!!); but any "citizen" of babble may request that someone else be civil as a polite request. Kind of like - "er, did you say what I think you said?". I think it can be even more effective than having Dr Bob or one of the deputies make the request. Kind of like self-policing; being a good neighbour.
I'm not certain that a non-official PBC would count towards earning a block, though. That's a good question.

It would appear that one poster's request for civility to another counts towards a block - that's pretty bizarre. JYL just got blocked by gg. I thought that PBC's had to come from a deputy or Dr Bob?? I am wicked confused now. That would mean that *anyone* could decide that I'm uncivil and I could be blocked for it??
Er... trying not to be outraged and merely extremely puzzled...
