To Dr. Bob - Larry Hoover

Posted by ed_uk on June 23, 2005, at 18:24:44

Hello,

I was wondering whether you'd had time to reconsider Larry's block, you mentioned that you would give it some thought.

Kind regards

Yes, please reconsider on the merits of the case not because of his popularity here.

It would be good to see Larry back in action on the alternative board again...I only mention alternative as for me persoanlly it was there he offered education there for me about fish oil with his vast knowledge on alternative treatments.

Its a shame he's not around, he has much to offer with support and education to others..

Kind regards

Nick

I was getting worried too. I worry that managing this place can be too stressful for one person.

He was on the other boards. I guess he was enjoying the relative peace on Admin.

He has been posting on this board...just not on this thread.

Is he building up the tension to the climax that Larry will be released...the suspense is rising lol

...To be continued ;-)

While he might have been correct in his assumptions, I still think he could have come up with a different conclusion. :(

Hmmm...

I should have said his assumptions appear correct, as far as they go. But I don't think he is correctly factoring in lack of understanding of the rule.

Actually, I might like to propose that different types of infractions might start over at one week. Because the basis of long blocks is the assumption that people would learn over time what is and isn't allowable. But that doesn't necessarily translate into other types of violations. So someone who was blocked for a long period of time for giving information on the illegal import of drugs without prescription several times wouldn't necessarily understand the three post limit, and wouldn't be deliberately breaking the rules.

So that there could be more than one column per poster on the blocking spreadsheet.

Maybe I have overlooked something, but that seems more in keeping with the spirit of lengthy blocks to me.

Yeah. I might be tempted to agree. With respect to 'technical' things like that. With respect to attacking / accusing other people... Well... I have to say that it took a while... But I have come around to the idea of lengthy blocks.

I've been worried about Bob too.
He seems to go all quiet sometimes.
I know he is busy...
But I worry about it when people are attacking him...
And when people are mad at him.
I know it is his job to deal with that...
But then it isn't really because he's not our p-doc...
And then even people whose job it is to deal with that sort of sh*t don't deal with it very well...
And I'd better shut up now.
:-(
