Hi!
Things are really bad for me guy's, i'm approaching the absolute end now.
My Nardil stopped working after 7 years of taking it.
At that time while taking Nardil i could function and hold a job to take care of myself. I was on 90mg-s. In the end of August 2015 it stopped working completely, even after rising my dose to 120-mg. My best guess is that the tolerance found its peak and that was it. The Nardil therapy was never a real solution for me- it kept me from sinking, but had its side-effects that never allowed me to create normal relationships or stable life whatsoever. I stopped Nardil a month ago, because it had no effect anymore and now i take no meds at the moment. So again i got this- step in front of the bus depression.
Last spring i self-medicated with ketamine (as the Nardil was getting weaker and weaker), it made me feel like my old self again after all these years, ..nardil just made me high(till it worked) for the first part of the day and crush in the evenings, quite like stimulants i guess- never tried one. The problem with ketamine was that it was self obtained and administered, so i never knew the purity of the product neither i had control of getting it steadily in my bloodstream, because of IM ROA instead of IV infusion. It should be administered as an IV infusion for prolonged time under clinical supervision as most of you may know . It did gave me the best 3 months of my life though, but i had to stop because i couldn't control the dosage- it made me unstable- mostly feeling too good and becoming inadequate at times which as well will ruin your life eventually.
So my main question here is, im out of option now so im leaving my country to get medically supervised ketamine infusions. Anyone know any professional and not mysteriously priced Ketamine Clinics in Australia or US? Im from EU, so no ketamine clinics here.
Regards,
TopDog

Ketamine is now available in 20 or more locations in the US. Here's a list of doctors who provide it:
http://www.ketamineadvocacynetwork.org/provider-directory/
The cheapest ketamine doctor I know of on the list is in Georgia. He charges $300 per treatment. The most expensive one I know of is in Deerfield, Illinois. He charges $1,000 per treatment.
Not on this list is Edward Fruitman in NYC and Long Island. I believe he charges $250 for a ketamine injection.

David Feifel in San Diego is one of the first doctors to use ketamine to treat depression. He charges $500 for ketamine injections and $1,000 for IV infusions. Nancy Sajben in nearby La Jolla prescribes ketamine nasal spray.

Where in Europe are you from? You're right, "ketamine clinics" -- i.e., doctors ripping you off by charging astronomical prices for an intervention that costs them a few bucks -- don't exist over here. But university clinics have certainly started using ketamine for patients with treatment-resistant depression.
My guess would be that availability of ketamine correlates generally with higher cultural liberalism. So, you'd be able to find it in countries like Germany or Switzerland, and probably also Scandinavia, but you'd probably have a harder time in Hungary or Slovakia. Not sure about southern Europe.
But you certainly wouldn't have to move to the USA or Australia to get ketamine treatment.

Hi europerep!
Thank you for the information, do you know any specific clinic to receive the treatments in EU?
I'm from eastern Europe, no ketamine used for this condition here, i even don't know what field doctors use it or if it is used at all a part from vets overhere

Ah, I see.
Ketamine is definitely being used for treatment at university hospitals in Berlin (Universitätsmedizin Berlin-Charité). The only links I'm finding there are in German. (http://psychiatrie.charite.de/patienten/behandlung_von_depressionen/behandlung_von_depressionen_mit_ketamin/)
There is also research being done at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Here's a link to their program: https://www.unige.ch/medecine/psyat/en/research-groups/916kosel/ I could imagine that hospitals in Zurich or Bern have similar programs.
If they can't help you directly, maybe they have contacts closer to where you are located that are working with ketamine either in research or clinical practice.
In the worst-case scenario, I would try to get my hands on medical ketamine and try to administer it myself. Of course, one must make a thorough risk-benefit assessment for that...

Sutter Center for Psychiatry (also arguably the best psych hospital in California, and specialists in TRD) does this, and also RTMS and ECT.

Hey TopDog,
I went to NY ketamine clinic earlier this year. Although I didn't find the treatment particularly effective for my chronic depression, the guy who runs it (Dr Glen Brooks) is a thoroughly charming, caring and sincere dude. He operates seven days a week so getting an appointment is easy, and if you're from out of town he'll book you in for six days in a row to get it over and done with and save on you're hotel bills. I'd researched about 3 or 4 other places, but he was the easiest to deal with. Check out the Ketamine Advocacy Network website. They have a long list of ketamine clinics in the states.
I'm from Australia, and there is only one outfit here offering Ketamine called "Aura Medical" - AVOID THEM. Very dodgy operators who are already under investigation for malpractice. Good Luck. :)
This is the end of the thread.
