After several miserable days on Elavil (shakiness & no sleep), my bladder doc said I could try 30mg of Cymbalta. She doubted it would help as Elavil is the go to drug for my neuropathy.
Would I still be able to take 60mg of Geodon with 30mg of Elavil? Will the Cymbalta make me shaky like Elavil? I just wonder if I'm getting the same bumps in neurotransmitters by using both Cymbalta & Geodon. Maybe I need to just give up my beloved Geodon.
Am I being stupid and should I just use low dose Depakote to calm the jitters? (Low dose 250-375mg).

Cymbalta is not going to work for the neuropathy. Drugs that will help with your neuropathy are Lyrica, Keppra, Mementine and Nucynta
Why wouldn't you be able to take Geodon and Elavil?
Eric
ps. you're not being stupid you're just overanalyzing the whole thing.

I may be mistaken, but I think Cymbalta approved by the FDA for diabetic neuropathy right around the time that it was approved for the treatment of depression. From what I have observed, Cymbalta can work wonders for a variety of pain disorders. Of course, there are no guarantees. Do you think that the antinociceptive effects of Cymbalta are exaggerated?
> Nucynta
I am not familiar with that drug.

Yes.
It did nothing for my arthritis and absolutely nothing for my neuralgia. What besides its SNRI effects contribute to its pain-killing ability?

My own experience is completely subjective. I wasn't sharing it as an objective truth.
