I think you've been put on too many medications, JMHO. Chronic Stress and chronic depression can also eventually take their toll and start to cause systems in the body to not function as well anymore, resulting in a lot of fatigue issues.

Are you currently feeling depressed? Does depression come as a result of fatique or was it there in the firs place?

How do you think Prozac is working for you? What about trileptal?

Are you in good cardiovascular conditioning?

What is your diet like? Eliminating gluten based foods and cutting all other grains in half could make a considerable difference in the way you feel. Cutting out added sugar, with the exception of dark raw honeys(still moderate though) would be in order as well.

I would not add another medication-unless you are replacing one with another, and you have taken other actions to improve your health.

Morgan

Definitely a sleep study before jumping into taking something like Provigil. Do not go for potential quick fixes yet. Try to be patient with this.

I know this is the medication board, but I think we all need to start to consider our lifestyles and diets a little more than we do. Survival of the fittest ya'all.

I doubt insurance companies would pay for Provigil without a sleep study first.

Sleep study, thyroid check, anemia check.

Take a daily Centrum, take a brisk 30 minute walk every day

Well, I dunno, my first reaction is that while your meds could be playing a role in the fatigue and irritableness, I don't think they are the primary culprit. Chronic fatigue like that is something else. The topics to look at....get away from the daily thoughts of meds....include anti-toxins and anti-pathogens and anti-inflammation. Deal with those and chronic fatigue should improve or totally disappear.

The meds you are taking do absolutely nothing to address chronic fatigue or its common causes and in fact can make them worse in the long run.

All that said, .5mg klonopin b.i.d would make a lot of people feel pretty darn fatigued. Mileage varies, so that may or may not be an issue in your case.

Maybe temporarily turn off the machine in the head that keeps thinking about the meds, and turn on a different one that focues purely on....what are the causes of chronic fatigue and how can I cheaply and easily begin to address all of them at the same time?

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in posting- I have had a sleep study done which revealed that I do not have a known sleep apnea or narcolepsy- they called it a sleep disorder, not otherwise specified- hypersomnia - as a result, I was told I don't ever get deep restorative sleep and spend all
My sleeping hours in stage 1 or 2 or Rem sleep- it was odd they said but not treatable. go figure. I am undergoing thyroid testing again as well as a number of other labs and we are switching out Focalin for adderall.
Thanks for all of the responses- I read each one and discuss with my pdoc so please keep them coming!

I don't get it they say a sleep disorder but untreatable? Shows what they don't know. So A CPAP wouldn't help? I'm sorry. Phillipa

FM I'm sure this isn't it but a google search brought this up and since you say thyroid this is autoimmune based and says no treatment. FYI is all. Phillipa

Actually I have questioned this disorder myself- apparently my ability to function 6-8 hours a day rules this out . I am sure I should be thankful- but I hope my lab work shows something more this time .

Wouldn't it be actually nice to see something like anemia which a simple iron pill could correct? Phillipa
