I'm taking klonopin for a few weeks now and am doing better than ever. yet, im still very anxious. I tihnk the klonopin is causing some anxiety. Im bipolar, shizoaffective, anxiety disorders, eating disorders. I cant freakin take this crap anymore. SO MUCH FREE FLOATING ANXIETY ITS DRIVING ME INSANE!!! and I know i cant get valium, I want to try that. My doctor will say no, and be a jackass like always. I dont feel free, I want to try the drugs I want to try, not have permission by someone who has no clue what their doing and is an ex alchy that wont perscribe sedatives. I just cannot take this *!&& anymore.
I would take depakote but it causes too much weight gain. Although, i might have to deal with that.
Do you think maybe the generic klonopin could be causing this anxiety? I get the buzz, and everything perfect, but the baseline effect of this drug is anxiety. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Could be gee I have valium and no more relaxation never a buzz. Same with xanax. I'm in a pickle as klonopin depressed me. Uggg. I sure know what you mean though. Phillipa

Maybe you just need a higher dose? It shouldn't be making you feel worse. Why won't your doctor prescribe Valium?

im sure he'd perscribe it, but it would be at the wrong time. Or ill have to wait like a month and beg.. and sit in my home suffering until he writes the script. Hes an ex alcoholic so i tihnk he isnt a big fan of sedatives.

Havae you tried norepinephrine based ADs? Such as Savella, Nortriptyline? Maybe Cymbalta, but it's heavier on serotonin.
I don't want to take the time to go into long explanations why, but when klonopin doesn't hit a bullseye, it points the way to out-of-whack cortisol. The feedback loop of those meds will put the brakes on, at the right dose. Most people take too much.
Naturals, have you tried the things your body actually needs? No one ever had a benzo deficiency. Magnesium? Glycine? Gaba? Combo of all three? Passionflower? Lemon Balm? Skullcap?
I remember someone here that was on super high dose klonopin and unresponsive anxiety who got tremendous improvement on lithium instead.
I guess my point is...when we get in a small box of thinking "anxiety = benzos", or worse, what docs do a lot "anxiety = ssris", we are excluding other major causes of anxiety that benzos or ssris will only slightly touch.

yea actually i agree with you. i have an open mind with meds though. Ive tried all those NE ad's. I get horrible palpitations, and ive tried beta blockers with it too and nope. I love magnesium, calms down my bipolar tremendously. Glycine makes me depressed, as well as gaba. too bad...

You're probably not taking enough. Keep upping the dose until the anxiety lessens.

Hi Sam,
So what dose are you on? Please tell us--that could make a difference. Tell us the daily dose you're on and how you take it. Divided dose, once a day, etc,
