or maybe the question should be, if they courier it, will i actually get it? my psychologist seems to think so and my psychiatrist thinks it's worth trying, but i can't afford to waste money.
it seems there is no problem filling rx's of drug unavailable in canada at US pharmacies and bringing them back through customs in person, from my experience. i did this with guanfacine and Deplin, the pharmacy was fine filling canadian prescriptions, and the canadian customs agent on the way back had no problem when i told him that i had to fill the rx in the US.
would this change if i asked a pharmacy to courier nefazodone? would customs be pickier when the prescription passes through this way.
it seems there are no legal boundaries, but i have no idea if there may be boundaries in certain specific protocols.
other than taking the greyhound on a strange broken trip from ottawa to plattsburgh, i have no real means of getting nefazodone in person as i did with guanfacine and Deplin. i would basically need to rent a car and convince someone to drive that car.

No idea. I was under the impression this med was banned in Canada but your Canadian doc thinks it's okay? Interesting. Phillipa

i'm not sure of a "ban." it was taken off the market and no longer approved for sale in canada due to the liver risk, which my doctor said was very rare (he was quite frustrated that it was just taken off the market, and nothing like a monitoring protocol was made instead.), seeming to me that it has been basically demoted to the status of the other unapproved (in canada) drugs i didn't encounter any legal barriers bringing back through customs in person. and my doctor didn't have a problem making the rx.

I've been unable to get the answer off the Health Canada website all day. I keep get server errors.
Since you're in Ottawa, it would be a local call. For the life of me, I can't tell for sure which number to call.....the titles of the branches don't seem to have just the right name. I'm sure calling the general inquiry number will get you directed properly.

I've never had any problem importing meds. A copy of the prescription with the drug while in transit covers things, as far as I know. And mail is the cheaper method. No surprise brokerage fees.

Importing it from a commonwealth country which is trustworthy and still has it approved would probably be better than the strict searching between our two countries.
Other than that I can't comment legally here on how you would do that.

What you realy need to worry about it Canada customs. They could decide weather to let it go through or not. Some drugs are allowed to cross the border some not. Its all up to the customs. I have sent meds into canada before and they came throught. It was cogentin and armour thyroid. The armour is not available in CA, but it made it across the border. The safest way to do it is to have the med sent to a PO box on the other side of the border and go pick it up your self, assuming you are not too far from the border. That is what canada customs told me to do.

I forgot to mention that the perscriptions I had sent were in repackaged envelopes, not directly from the pharmacy. Canada customs told me that you can not have prescriptions mailed across the border but you can bring them across with you, for your self only. But that you may get away with having them sent. Depends on what customs does.
