Stress levels

Posted by rjlockhart '05 on August 6, 2008, at 19:44:51

During the day, i feel im going to throw up, or faint. Is there an imbalance?

And sometimes Xanax doesnt do it for me. It decreases eletrical activity, thats all.

Should i ask about dizziness to doctor?

Well, first you have to know the etiology of your nausea?

Do you have a virus overlaying things or do you feel stress is the factor?

If so, nausea, dizziness, all sorts of things can be caused by stress and I'm sure your doctor would say something along that line. Its part of our fight or flight system.

Fear domiates life. My main weakness, unlearned some life skills. During the day, somethings can make me feel im going to throw up, have numbness, tignling, and feel im going to blackout, its a feeling before you faint, or passout.

I think maybe its oxyngen that is not getting to vital places.

When you feel that, check your posture. Are you leaning forward or back, hunched over, or in some other way not centered over your abdomen and spine? One of the smartest things a therapist taught me was to do this. When I'm not centered, I can't take full breaths, and so I don't feel right. It's worth a shot. Doesn't cost anything, is non-invasive, no real side effects I know of. Just check your posture, center yourself over your belly, spine, and rear end, and take several slow, deep breaths. Work towards staying centered as much as possible so that you get the fullest benefits from your breathing.

Take care,

gg

Are you hypervertilating? If so too much CO2 can cause dizziness. Try the posture and deep breaths but very slow. Phllipa and good luck

Yeah, I get physically ill when I've been too stressed out. I'm sure mine is anxiety-related -- i.e. psychosomatic -- since it only happens when I've been around a group of people for more than an hour or two. I have social anxiety.

I just got back from visiting my mother. One day my cousin and his seven children came for a two-hour visit. Another day I threw a birthday party -- just four people, but I did all the cooking, cake, set-up, etc.

Both times, I got physically ill afterwards -- only a tiny bit of dizziness but general malaise and nausea. I should also say, both occasions were a lot of fun. So it's not brought on by an unpleasant experience, just the social anxiety thingie.

Klonopin helps me out a great deal with this problem. I'm sorry Xanax doesn't always help you -- I don't know whether or not Klonopin might be better for some reason.

A dubious store-front for a clinic in Nelson, British Columbia which has experts with degrees in "Brain State Training"? :)

is it not relevent, or more, i know that site you have to pay to be in classes. *Some* of the infomation makes since. But a 100 % overall re-evaulation would help.

Talking to a doctor, he doesnt know off the top of this head what to do. Sometimes, the best thing is to research. But.....

There so many view's. I want to know the facts!
