It seems lately like if I take enough Klonopin to completely get rid of the anxiety (.75 -1mg) then I get kind of groggy and yucky feeling. I feel kind of sedated. It's not a pleasant sedated feeling, more a sluggish not really mentally acute feeling. But if I take less (.5mg) the anxiety is still there under the surface, making me constantly aware that I'm uncomfortable.
Used to, .5 mg completely took away the anxiety without grogginess. The higher dose also kind of affects my memory and makes me kind of ditsy. Will this pass? Or should I just be willing to take the smaller dose and live with the residual anxiety?
Jumpy or ditsy & groggy - that is the question.

I take Clonazepam 5mg daily for severe panic.
Yes you can drop your jaw.
Klonopin at first seems to really make you depressed, i belive it depresses some reginon of the brain that causes you to feel groggie.
I know Klonopin very well.
I would stay with .5mg X 2-3 daily. You shouldnt have much of a depression problem with that dose.

hey! I used to take klonopin in varying doses, from 1mg a day up to 4mgs a day with additional ativan. As benzos go, it seems pretty bad in flattening out mood, causing depression, etc. Keep in mind that until recently it was used primarily for seizure disorders, and wasn't terribly popular for anxiety. You might want to talk to your doctor...there are other long-lasting benzos that dont dampen mood or cognition as much. I personally like Tranxene; Librium is pretty good too, although it seems to have more side effects for a lot of people than some other benzos. Valium is a good drug, although it kind of has a bad rep, so lots of docs won't RX it. If you're taking Klonopin only as needed and just want short term anxiety relief, you might be better served by going with Ativan (I prefer it to xanax, but xanax may be just the thing for you). Good luck!

The most dangerous combination I had with Klonopin was with alcohol (in regards to depression). It intensified my depression 3 fold

I think I know what you are talking about.
I took Klonopin for a while (few months) and then weaned off a few months back.
Because of all the asthma inhalors I'm on, they cause anxiety (more physical than mental- shaking, heart rate, etc..). Anyway, so this last week, I started my Klonopin again.
The first 20-30 minutes after it hits me, I feel calm but then I feel strange almost like I have a fever. It makes me feel very groggy and gives me a drugged feeling (which I don't like).
It does help me sleep but I don't like that feeling of almost "malaise" that I get with it. It's strange.
I'm only taking .35 mg's a day- I'm too worried about going over that although my dr. prescribed .5 mg's twice a day for me.
Have you tried any other benzo? Xanex helped me the most with panic attacks but I haven't taken it in a while.

Spriggy, You're right. Xanax is probably the best for panic attacks. I was once told to put it under my tongue for faster relief! ICK! Fondly, Phillipa
