I want to just disappear.

Why can't they make a pill that you could take to go on a mental health vacation for a couple of days. No worries; just peacefulness. I love my kids so much. I could never purposely leave them, but I feel my marriage slowly disolving each day. I can't handle being the spouse of an alcoholic. I just want to disappear.

Oh how many times i have thought that too...I dont know your situation, but keep in mind your kids are your life right now. And when you are stronger, perhaps you can have the life you want with them...I did that and i never thought i could.
So, dont give up!!!!!

Colleen, I feel for you. Truly. My husband was an alcoholic for the first five years we were married. When he finally quit (after I kicked him out of the house) he was okay for a year or so and then switched to drugs.(partly my fault, I was a recreational drug user myself at the time). It's a constant source of friction in the marriage and it's a horrible way to live.

Hi there - I was in your shoes 9 years ago. Today things look much brighter. I made some choices, but had lots of help and support to carry them out. Please reach out, there are people around you who care and would be happy to help you.

I do have to add that, although I'm on meds and in a good marriage, I still have days when I just want to disappear :-). Just not as many . . . it is tolerable and I'm glad I'm still here.

Hang in there the best you can. Make choices for you and your kids!

I'm so sorry you've been suffering for 10 years! I wish you luck in getting on anti-depressants. If you can find one that works, it will give you the energy and better frame of mind to start working on any issues that may be contributing to your depression (if that's what you mean by "sick"). First things first. Thinking about taking meds is a good first step! Hang in there, you are so young and you will be amazed at how much life has to offer you (& you it!)!!!
