I've seen a couple of news items lately regarding how to treat PTSD, specifically flashbacks, using Inderal. What I also noticed was that the drug needed to be administered right after the traumatic event. This sounds downright difficult to do, except in obvious cases, i.e. rape and injury.
Has anyone been treated with a beta blocker for trauma? Right after the trauma? Perhaps much later after the traumatic event? Did it help or lessen the flashbacks?

i do not have PTSD and i do not ever remember hearing about a case in which a person was treated with Inderal (or another beta-blocker) immediately following a traumatic event, but i do think that could very well be at least somewhat effective in minimizing after-event symptoms/flashbacks. (i have no idea how it would be possible to test this sort of thing, though. oh well.)
However, i do seem to remember hearing about beta-blockers being quite helpful in some cases of PTSD. i have no sources to back this up, but, yeah.
