Friends, This discussion group seems like a life line for me! I was taking Effexor for 2 months and was up to 150 mg/day. It helped my depression, but didn't control my almost daily migraines. So my physician lowered the Effexor by 1/2 each week and added Zoloft increasing by 1/2 each week for 2 weeks. The Zoloft seemed to help my migraines by the second week. Yesterday, i stopped taking the Effexor (I was done to 37.5 mg for 1 week prior) and almost immediately started getting tingly fingers, feet and face, dizziness and jittery feeling (like an incredible caffeine overdose). I called my physician and he gave me prescription for meclizine. Now my questions are: How long will this awful feeling last??? Has meclizine helped anyone out there get past this?? Did I come off the Effexor too quickly?? Any suggestions on how to get through this?? It's very hard to stay focused at work when I feel as if I'm being jittered apart. Thank you. Sarah X

I've had the same symptoms as people are descibing when they withdraw from the effexor. (Suprisingly the effexor is helping me with them.) Yes, the meclizine helps with the vertigo but can make you very drowsy at first so be careful until you know how it will effect you.
