Wow, can I ever relate to the evils of insomnia! You have my deepest sympathy, it's SO frustrating to just lay there...argghh.

I've been having it, too, for some time. Nothing seems to work consistently, but the nights I've been able to sleep (fall asleep) I've taken: 2 klonopin (total 2 mg), acetominophin (like Tylenol), calcium/magnesium tablets (they are an old standard for insomnia), and melatonin. It doesn't always work, but it does sometimes.

In the past I've used Ambien but had horrible nightmares! But, it did put me to sleep.

I'm wishing you good luck in finding a solution.

Shar

Hi Nikki,
Is there anything particularly stressful going on now? Any medical problems? Usually insomnia has a reason behind it, unless you're one of the unfortunate people who suffer from it continuously. I've found when I have the early morning wakenings I force myself to get up because it's so frustrating just to lie there. Sometimes I read or go on the computer, or even pay bills. How's your sleep hygiene? Going to sleep at 1am is pretty late (unless this is work related?). You may want to try to go to sleep earlier and see if that helps. best of luck- judy

Hi girlies :o)

I really don't know whats causing this bout.. I have pretty dodgy sleep anyway.. I have about 3 weeks of asleep by about 2:30 - 3am, and then a week of decent sleep.. but this not sleeping till dawn is just awful.. though last night I slept OK, I think I was just totally exhausted.

Its just throwing my mood out so badly.. and I don't want it at the moment. But then does anyone ever want it!!

I go to bed at 11pm.. lights out about 20 past (I read for that 20 minutes).. and I always make sure I am in bed for atleast an hour before getting up again just incase I do fall asleep. I've tried going to bed earlier, but this is when Julian goes to bed, and I just can't sleep knowing he will be coming to bed soon..

Oh well.. off to see how tonight goes

nikki xx
