Does anyone know why the manufacturer rec ommends 450 mg/day as the maximum dose for regular Wellbutrin but only 400 mg?day for the sustained release?

Karen, Good question. I'd guess that it has to do with the strength of each tablet, sustained or regular release. Probably, there is a reason that deals with FDA submission with the package insert. The regular release does leave your system faster and therefore could warrant a 50 mg per day higher dose..big guess on my part. It would be interesting to see what the other babblers have to say. blessings,

Seems pretty sound, Suggs.
Also pretty damn inconvenient. My HMO wouldn't pay for 120 100mg-SR tablets so I could be at 400/d, but it *would* allow me to pay two $10 copays so I could get 60 150mg and 30 100mg tablets. Bastages. Ice holes! Grrrrrr.Bob
