Does anyone have experience with stopping remeron completely after only a few weeks? My psychiatrist said after such a short time on a low dose (7.5 mg) it would be ok, so I did cut back one dose to 3.25mg then stopped altogether. The 1st few days felt better...I felt more energy & less cognitive impairment/drunk feeling, maybe one night of insomnia, but I've had a complete loss of appetite and I'm feeling more depressed, in a way I don't think I felt before I started meds. 7.5 is a low dose, but I was on it precisely because I'd been so sensitive to other drugs, and the 1st week on this was a horrible spell of sedation w/mental impairment and emotional numbness (the world went flat w/no emotional depth). Sometimes it almost feels like i'm going back to the symptoms of the first week, though not as bad. Does being pharmacologically senstive (my pharmacist suggested this migh be my situation) have any bearing on withdrawal symptoms? I tried citalopram for 3 days at 10mg and quit after having the worst experience of my life- a terrifying combination of detachment/disorientation and high anxiety (I started taking .5 mg of klonopin after that). I started trying ADs 2 months ago because I wanted less apathy and detachment (and less anxiety, but I think klonopin is more effective and predictable for that), and it seems like a some of these drugs make it worse. Any thoughts?
