Hi Ali,
I imagine it would be out of your system before October if you stay off it till then. Mine took me about seven weeks...but my experience was different because the insomnia wasn't too bad and I am a really poor sleeper anyway. My major problem was feeling sick.
But all of our experiences are different. I find with insomnia that the best way to get through it is to always get up at the same time. Like getting up at seven every day even if I go to sleep at five. Easier said than done and I don't have much control with insomnia because it's just with me all the time so I can't preach about what works. But I think the getting up at the same time keeps my light dark rhythems good and helps me be less drowsy during the day.
Hope that helps,
Jess.> Hi,

I recently decided I didn't want to be taking Mirtazapine any more and because I didn't want to see my psychiatrist I just stopped taking it. I now realise how irresponsible this was.

I can frequently get more than 6 hours sleep but I'm rarely asleep before 3am (it's 5am as I type this). I am a student and at the moment it's not too big an issue but when I start having lectures again in October it will become a major inconvenience. Will I be sleeping better by then or do I need to go back on the drugs?
