Coming off of zoloft is horrible!!! A lot of people have said that tapering off is really the way to go and even switching from zolofts lowest dose to a bit of prozac in the end of the taper softens the transition.

I personally tapered once and had horrible side effects and then another time just went cold turkey and it was hellish as well. For me they both sucked. I got no relief from tapering.

It lasts at the most 2 weeks though so know that there is an end to the misery!

I had vertigo, rushing sensations, electric feelings if I looked left or right, it was crazy!

When I 1st decided to get pregnant with my son I had to withdraw from paxil and it was the same horrible mess. It is all the SSRI's but Zoloft and Paxil are supposedly worse then Prozac, it has to do with the half-life of the drug. Either prozacs is longer or shorter then the others not sure which. Maybe longer? so it stays in your system longer and cushions the blow of coming off??? I am really not sure.

I feel bad for you, that is a miserable feeling I felt like I was going crazy each time, which sucks because its like here I am trying to come off a psych med and feeling worse then ever!

Hang in there it gets better.

I take prozac now, I really can't get by without it but I prefer it to zoloft, zoloft made me grind my teeth and get headaches.

Good luck Sorry this post was so long!
